You give your children enough money to do something, but not enough to do nothing.
The Descendants (2011) follows the journey of the King family as they struggle to face Elizabeth's (mom and wife) death. She was on a boating accident and has a Do Not Resuscitate order. I'd love to tell you more but it will ruin the film for you. I highly recommend this film as it is never boring, stars George Clooney, and it will make you reexamine your past and make the most of the future. So many unforgettable scenes in this one. Plus, I shed a tear in the second to the last scene. =(
The Chef In The Chowking Commercial is now Papa Chen Sy
I started watching My Binondo Girl because of Laureen Uy. I love her fashion sense and entrepreneurship at such a young age. Then, I started noticing the other members of the cast. Aside from the veterans (Cherry Pie and Gina Pareno), handsome prince charming material (Xian Lim) and the lovely Miss Marina Benipayo (who ,I found out from my friend's blog, is a teacher at SoFa), there's another face that's stealing the limelight.
That person is no other than Richard Yap, popularly known as Papa Chen Sy, playing Kim Chiu's strict and conventional Chinese father. He hails from Cebu, father of two, and holds a marketing job in his province. He plays the role excellently and is very believable.
When I'm teased about wedding bells and marriage, my customary answer would be: "Not in a decade, I want to see the world first. If I get married, then I'll have kids to worry about. I won't be able to enjoy my travels because I would be thinking about them all the time." (This is, of course, assuming that somebody makes the mistake of proposing. Hahahahha. )
This is my peg for my future family. Any takers. Anyone??? =)
Then, I read about The Zapps family. The couple, Candelaria and Herman Zapp, started travelling aboard a 1928 Graham-Paige vintage car on the year 2000 and never stopped driving since then. They have even become parents to four children along the way. The children are Pampa, Tehue, Paloma, and Wallaby with different nationalities to boot.

The Zapp Family is currently in the Philippines. They even shared an anecdote on how a Filipino family let them stay in their one-room house and gave them the only peace of meat they had. The family even apologized to them for not having more to offer. Such is the generosity of the Filipino heart.
I wonder who of their children keeps asking this question. There's one in every family. =D
Okay, I confess that I haven't gone to church regularly since last year. At first, I felt obligated to attend Mass every Sunday. I studied in schools run by nuns (elementary) and priests (high school). It was an obligation to go to church. Otherwise, you'd lose precious points for the Christian Living subject where you have to pass your reflection notebook every Monday morning. Plus, the priest saying the Homily is your teacher.
Over time, I just stopped going to Sunday Mass. I only go during special occasions (Christmas, family requirement, etc.), The biggest factor that made me stopped going is the fact that the Church, by that I mean the organization, is meddling uninhibitedly into government territory. They force their opinions on the churchgoers. The homilies are incorporated with so many "Believe this. Believe that. RH Bill is about abortion." statements that it has made me think twice about the importance of Sunday mass. Plus, I dread seeing those ANTI-RH Bill tarpaulins plastered in front of the church. I just want to say, stop pushing your beliefs down our throats.
I would rather have my quiet moments in the prayer room alone with Jesus rather than be dictated upon political and social issues. I want my heart-to-heart dialogue with Jesus, minus the sermons. I feel closer to Jesus this way.
That's just me. I'm sorry I don't love going to Sunday Mass but I still honor the Sabbath Day in my own way.
Despite this, I still always ask myself in every situation,
